Dusky Blenny

Malacoctenus gilli

The Dusky Blenny is very common, but often overlooked. It inhabits shallow sea floors, hiding under rocks and rubble. The Dusky Blenny, regardless of the rest of it's body coloring will always have two spots it's dorsal fin. One on the Fore-dorsal fin, and an oval blackish-blue spot, with a bit of neon blue, located on the mid-dorsal area and extending on to the body. (See photos). They will also have 2 obvious dark round "ear" spots right behind the eye.
