Diploria clivosa

The Knobby Brain coral is cousin to the Symmetrical Brain Coral. They inhabit shallow, sandy areas around reefs and rocky shorelines. There is no groove along the top of the ridges. Polyps are often out during the day. They grow in knobby mounds on the sea floor or encrust rocks. Often grow along other similar species like Symmetrical Brain Coral or Boulder Brain Coral
