French Angelfish

Pomacanthus paru

The juvenile French Angelfish looks very much like the juvenile Grey Angelfish. The French angelfish's tail has a yellow rim around the whole rounded tail and the Grey Angelfish's tail is squared off at the end and has a white or transparent edge (margin. The juvenile's body shape is almost triangular and as it grows becomes oval shaped. The adults are found in shallower water than the Grey Angelfish adults. The juveniles swim around protective areas in shallow water and act as cleaner fish for Bar Jacks and stingrays. They are also easier to approach than the Grey Angelfish.
