Glassy Sweeper

Pempheris schomburgki

A shiny, copper colored fish who hides under overhangs and caves during the day in schools of up to one hundred or so. They are quite impressive at just 6 inches in length. They have a dark band at the base of their anal fin.  If you look closely at the juveniles, You can clearly see why they are also called "Hatchetfish. They are also known as Copper Sweepers.
