Pederson Cleaning Shrimp GALLERY

Periclimenes pedersoni

These beautiful and colorful cleaning shrimp are found associated with the Knobby Sea Anemone and seems to prefer water deeper than 10 feet. You can get lucky spotting them when they are out from undercover of the sea anemone's tentacles. The blue color was a dead give-a-way. They have very long and straight front legs, stripped in shades of blue with tiny pincers at the tips. When you approach, they will often swim up to see if you're a candidate for a cleaning.  Look for them in water deeper than 10 feet.
