Redlip Blenny
Ophioblennius macclureiThe Redlip Blenny is a combtooth blenny. Called so because of the cirri on front and top of their heads. They are very territorial and will chase intruders away, but are not shy and you can usually get a close look. Individuals can be very light graym very dark brown with red lips or bi-colored with dark body fronts and light grey rear bodies. They are very common in areas of shallow reefs and rocky shorelines. They are one of the larger blennies. Some individual can grow to 5 inches, but most in the 3" range.
