 Stichodactyla helianthus

A flat bodies sea anemone with hundreds of short thick tentacles . They are about six inches in diameter and can be found both along rocky shore lines in either large groups or a few individuals on rocks very near the surface in areas of surge, or on rocks and coral heads in sandy areas with little surge. Look for the little green Sun Anemone Shrimp that most commonly associates with this sea anemone
