Gorgonia ventalinaThe common Sea Fan grows in a flat plane. Most often purple in color, sometimes yellow. If polyps are extended for feeding the sea fans look fuzzy brown. They are found both close to the surface and as deep as 100 feet and can reach widths of 6 feet.
