Corkscrew Sea Anemone

Bartholomea annulata

The Corkscrew Sea Anemone grows to about seven inches across with body color of mostly browns and greys. they can be found in areas of coral rubble in water as shallow as 2-3 feet. Look for the Red Snapping Shrimp that often takes up residence with the sea anemone. They often expose their whole oral disc, but will retract quickly if disturbed. They are mildly toxic.
