Green Razorfish

Xyrichtys splendens

This is one of two Razorfish species I've seen. The juvenile (top three pictures)  was hovering around one lone rock in a flat sandy area in about 4 feet of water. The next two are, I believe, sub-adults. They hang around rocks or gprgonians in sea grass beds at depths of 8 to 35 feet .and dive into the sand when threatened. They can be appraoched if unthreatened.
