Honeycomb Cowfish Gallery GALLERY
Acanthostracion polygoniaThe Honeycomb Cowfish has distinct polygon shapes
on their bodies. The cowfishes have forward pointing
horns above their eyes, and spines in front of the
anal fins. They can change their colors
rapidly, have a large "fan" tail, and dark upper
lip. They forage around reefs in water as shallow as
5 feet but most often will be deeper than 10 feet.
Don't confused them with the
Scrawled
Cowfish.
Including their tails, they can grow to
be about 1.5 feet long.
