Holocentrus rufus

The Longspine Squirrelfish is easy to confuse with the Common Squirrelfish. They look and act very similar.  Both have the dark big eyes to assist them with their night  time feeding. The Longspine has white triangle shaped tips on the front dorsal fin. These Squirrelfish can average up to 10 inches making them the second largest squirrelfish.
