Smooth Star Coral

Solenastrea bournoni

Although this mound type stony coral is named "smooth" it's surface is one on the most unsmooth. The corallite rims protrude from the surface at varying heights, giving the mound a bumpy look. The mound is a light cream to tan color, making it easy to identify from a distance. Mound can be up to 2 feet in diameter.
