Spanish Grunt GALLERYHaemulon macrostomum
Uncommonly seen, but easy to recognize because of the wide yellow strip running down the top of their backs and the bright yellow saddle blotch on top of the fore-tail. They will be resting during the day in secluded areas, either as larger individuals or groups of juveniles. Look under overhangs, and in recesses that are at least 6 feet deep. They can grow to 1 1/4 feet long.
