Touch-Me-Not Sponge
Neofibularia nolitangereThis sponge comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. They are so called because it is a very toxic species. Do not touch it with the bare skin! They can be thick encrusting like that last fice pictures, or massive to large vases (up to 30 inches wide and high). Brown-red in color. They are usually in depths of over 10 feet. Named for good reason. See Things that sting.
