Whitespotted Filefish
Cantherhines macrocerusThey can change their appearance rapidly. Here are their different displays. They have a large fore dorsal spine that they can raise and lower. Note the double-hook orange spines at the tail base and the single "tooth" on the upper and lower mouth. They also a dewlap (extendable belly flap) that they extend and retract. They are a medium size filefish, growing upwards to 1.5 feet.
