Striped Parrotfish

Scarus iserti

More common than the Princess Parrotfish, the Stripped Parrotfish juveniles have well defined stripes from nose to tail and have a yellow smudge on their nose and blue coloring above the eye. when males become sexually  mature their coloring changes. See bottom photos.   They can grow to just under a foot in length. Juveniles can be seen in back water areas and rocky shorelines where they school with a mixture of other species of juveniles.  Occasionally seen schooling for grazing. The Terminal Phase of the Striped Parrotfish looks very similar to the Princess Parrotfish.
